SGM’s Water program targets waste water treatment and water treatment.
Current wastewater infrastructure globally is in dire need of repair, while growing water demands will require new innovation around recycling and more reuse for various industrial and commercial uses. Water is poised to grow significantly. Due to infrastructure needs globally, the OECD projects that current water supply infrastructure investments will need to double, from 2013 numbers of $580 billion to over $1 trillion by 2025. Analysts suggest over 1200 early stage companies are now in this sector, up over twenty times in the last ten years. The extent of needed investments cover the entire water sector spectrum, from supply, filtration, quality, distribution to better technology metering for demand management.
