Michael J. Hammons, Managing Partner
Michael is a co-founder, Managing Partner, and Board Member of SGM Advisors. Michael has over 25 years of leadership experience in building operational value for portfolio companies. Previously, Michael was a Partner with SAIL Venture Partners, a leading private equity cleantech firm. Prior to private equity, he held senior leadership positions in the US and internationally. These leadership positions including CEO at Vigilistics, CEO at Nexiant, CEO at ARGO Tracker, VP of Global Operations at Cogent Communication, and Director of the South American Automotive Practice at Ernst & Young Consulting, headquartered in Sao Paulo.
Recognized as an expert in cleantech, business development, supply chain, finance, operations, manufacturing, product development and logistics, Michael has spoken at multiple conferences and written numerous articles. He formerly sat on the United States White House Roundtable on Manufacturing Technology Scale Up. He has also received multiple awards throughout his career, including Top Cleantech Thought Leader, Top 100 Most Innovative Vendors from Supply and Demand Chain Executive and Deloitte and Touche Fast 500. He earned a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, and a master’s in business administration from Harvard Business School.
